Living in San Diego we have come to expect sunny skies temperate weather year round. During the holiday season when most people in the country are pulling out down jackets and mittens; in San Diego we are trying to embrace the typically chilly festivities while we stand around in shirts and flip-flops. With the unpredictability in our local weather (and my schedule) I always struggle with what to put on each day and start my day dressed for adventure.
That cozy knot sweater that felt just right for a chilly 7:30 am walk to school is going to feel torturous when I’m picking the kids up in the 80 degree afternoon sunshine. The head to toe magazine worthy look is great for a work meeting but will never get me out the door for that quick hike I dream about squeezing in before sunset.

Where are my outfit repeaters of the world? I am a self-diagnosed outfit repeater. My shopping cycle consists of buying something, loving it hard and wanting to wear it all the time. Then just as quickly as I fell in love, I fall out of love and retire the piece towards the back half of my closet. This cycle is tiring, frustrating, guilt filled and always leaves me disappointing. I was in desperate need of a shopping solution and love designer clothes, but I don’t have the budget for them. I love the joy and excitement of having something new that I’m really excited to wear out that day.
And then, I found it. Rent The Runway Unlimited.
Today I authenticated 3 Louis Vuitton Speedies for customers. All three of them were fake and my customers had no clue. Rather than get an authenticate Louis Vuitton before they bid, they bought the bags (for hundreds of dollars each) and then luckily decided to reach out to me during their 48 hour return window.
While I was quickly able to determine their bags were without a doubt fake, the customers were shocked, angry, relieved – you name it. I can’t blame them though; How would you feel if you were holding a fake bag you just paid $500 for?

One of the things I quickly learned when I moved to San Diego is that not all sandals are created equal. When I first moved down to southern California I picked up whatever pair of colorful plastic sandals I could find and tried to wear them everywhere. It was years of denial but those $5 plastic sandals left my feet constantly blistered and me slipping constantly. Anyone who has ever worn a plastic sandal in the rain knows firsthand how precarious of a situation it is.
As my years of being a San Diegan went on I started to take notice of what seasoned beach goers were wearing on their feet. That’s how I came across OluKai, by taking notice of what surfer and really active beach and outdoorsmen were wearing for a sandal. Since then I’ve fallen in love with their entire collection of durable and stylish footwear perfect for the beach lifestyle.
