Winc The Internet's Coolest Monthly Wine Subscription Is A Mom's Dream

Let’s be totally real, taking the time to casually pick out a nice bottle of wine is a luxury of time I lost the minute my first child was born.  The first time we took my daughter grocery shopping we literally mapped everything out and packed like we were flying across the country not just picking up some eggs and milk.

Cut to five year later and although I’ve learned the art of shopping with kids, the grocery store or wall of glass filled wine bottle aisle are both places I don’t want to spend much time with kids in tow.  So how, as a mom surviving toddlers with many nights in, do I get access to great wines and a shopping experience I can totally enjoy from home during nap time?  Winc!

San Diego’s Best Kid Friendly Hotel – La Jolla Shores Hotel

March 27, 2017

San Diego is one of the country’s best kid friendly hotel & travel destinations.  With miles of beaches, Legoland, our World Famous Zoo, Sea World and an overall relaxed family friendly vibe it’s no surprise that more and more parents are starting to choose San Diego as their next stop for a family vacation.

Naturally, as parents start to plan their trips to San Diego and come across some of our most popular content, I end up getting lots of questions.  Where were we in one of my Instagram photos?  Which museum should people visit with their toddlers? What beach are we at?  However, there is one question in particular that I get multiple times a week; Where do you recommend we stay when we visit  San Diego with our kids?  My answer to where families with kids should stay in San Diego is the same every time. So, instead of just messaging everyone back one by one with a quick answer I decided to share  exactly why time and time again I recommend staying at The La Jolla Shores Hotel with kids.

The forecast shows that San Diego is due to get 6 straight days of rain starting now.  While to the rest of the country 6 days of light rain seems like no big deal, for us sun loving – live outdoors San Diegan’s it’s almost terrifying.  Other cities are built to account for poor weather; malls are indoors, there are indoor play places and a healthy balance of activities that work well when the weather outside is bad.  In San Diego, the weather is rarely bad and almost always sunny.  As a result, for a city our size there aren’t a lot of indoor options for places to take your kids when it’s raining and most of us just don’t know what the activities are.

Our Favorite No Fuss Halloween Crafts for Kids

If you are anything like me you spend the last hours before bed determined to do more crafts with the kids the next day.  I tell myself, “I can totally be that mom who had education and adorable activities for my kids each day.  Why can’t we have a house filled with elaborate Halloween decor all made by my 4 and 2 year old?”  And then the next morning I wake up to find them trying to fill their play kitchen with water they harvested from the powder room sink that still running and remember exactly why that ideal is simply not us.

But rather than accepting defeat entirely, I’ve switched my pinning to look for the easiest, no fuss, little mess Halloween crafts that would work for preschoolers.  Almost everything in these crafts are already in our home which means that I can just whip them out on the fly when I can tell our afternoon is about to take a turn for the worst.  Because let’s face it, in my house I don’t need crafts as a dedicated preplanned morning activity but instead for the –  no one took a nap but everyone actually needs one -afternoons.
